Arkale Lodge Rooms

I had a great stay at Arkale Lodge. Ishwar was incredibly responsive and kind - he let me check in a little early, which was great as I was pretty exhausted from travelling. Ishwar was super helpful in general - in the morning when I had mistakenly booked an uber, not knowing it was not in the area, he called a taxi for me. He was also super responsive when I emailed having forgotten my wallet in the room. Most notably, he greeted me by name each time he saw me, maybe this is the norm here in the UK, but it was a treat for me coming from elsewhere! There was also a great and filling breakfast! I really enjoyed my stay here and appreciated the effort that Ishwar made and the kindness I was met with.

The host and hostess were very welcoming and the level of cleanliness of the rooms were really impeccable. They were great with communication throughout and helped us with everything that we needed. A very relaxing place and atmosphere to stay and the breakfast was cooked by the host which is super tasty and good value. I really wish that we were staying longer and it was such a nice atmosphere. I highly recommend it and I will definitely be back. Thank you so much for having us!

The host/owner was so friendly and helpful and welcoming. From the outside I was a bit unsure to be honest, and some of the people hanging around outside seemed a bit off, but we didn’t have any issues. Everyone kept to themselves. It was quiet, no one bothered us and we got an amazing breakfast cooked by the owner. We had the downstairs en suite room. Really good value for the price we paid. There is parking -I had to go inside and ask the owner how to find it. It’s a few minutes walk away and there wasn’t a lot of space.

The beds were good. There were only 2 sets of towels and 2 cups for 3 of us. The shower was quite small and the temperature changed with the use of the cold water, eg flushing the toilet. The staff were lovely and breakfast was excellent.

Ishwar went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. He and his family greeted us by name our arrival (they had an engagement to go to but waited for us) and made sure we had everything we needed. They helped bring our luggage in and made sure we were in the correct car park.(about a half block away). Breakfast had lots of choices, were good and we were served quickly. I would definitely stay here again.

Ishwar is a fantastic host who goes out of his way to get to know you and make sure everything is great with your stay. Nothing would be too much trouble. His breakfasts are fantastic, it's truly a great value for money b&b. I stopped there twice with work and would definitely stop again. 10 minute walk and you're in the city centre.
